Description
I originally thought this was an Eastern Meadowlark (Sturnella magna), but thanks to Joseph A. Grzybowski, I now know this is a Western Meadowlark (Sturnella neglecta). It was at Lake Thunderbird State Park, in Oklahoma, United States on October 10, 2018
Ornithologist Joseph A. Grzybowski wrote: "This is an fresh-molt, early fall Western. The tint in the malar will become more yellow as the buff tips wear. Also note that the bars on the flight feathers are spaced, or just very narrowly connected. Would be plainly connected in Easterns."
